Hey all,

Anyone heard anything as to why Sony seems to have dropped the
Hologram AF illuminator feature from their cameras? All the current available models dont have it.

They seem to have dropped the:
V and F ranges of cameras, ie. DSC-V3 or DSC-F828

These cameras where brilliant for the indoor low light photographer.

Anyone got comments or reasons why Sony has done this?
News of new models that might or do include this feature again?

While the new Sony models are good, I've seen quite a decrease in quality over the past few years. I think most of it is due to keeping their prices inline with its competitors. I was surprised to see the R1 didn't have Hologram AF, my V3focuses faster and more accurately than any camera with just an ordinary IR Illuminator.
