I like the last one quite a bit. The rest have way too much dof and distracting backgrounds. This one has the same DOF issue but the background is less distracting than the other shots. IMO you really need to open up your apertures to start blurring some of the backgrounds. You're catching good action so your timing is good and sharpness seems OK - just need to either use wider apertures or position yourself so the backgrounds are the least distracting and shoot tight.

Good soccer action shots with that XT. The lens looks to do ok and possibly better if it were a bit sunnier.

I agree with John, you have the ability to get good shots with that lens so knock the ISO down to 100 or 200 and get the lens open as wide as it can go (I think f4 at 70mm and 5.6 at 300mm).

We all take sports shots differently, however I would go for Av so the aperture is always trying to be as wide as possible - you will then find when pulling back from 300mm to say 250 it will probably drop to f5 etc. This will always mean the dof is the best and you get as fast a shutter speed as possible!!

Hope this helps and keep on shooting!
