Hi Tammie,

I know I have not posted much recently but though I would throw in my thoughts.

Looking at the EXIF info you were using the following settings

Exposure Time = 1/3200"
F Number = F4
Exposure Program = Aperture priority
ISO Speed Ratings = 3200

This is not going to help quality. I would get the ISO down to say 400 and the exposure to 1/500 - 1/640 which will give you better quality shots while still keeping them frozen.

Let me know how that goes.

Mark,

I try to stayat 1/500or so but sometimes I cant get that 1/500 with the night games....So do you think I should switch to manual and force that??? I have been shooting mostly AV or TV. I think part of my issue in this shot was that I was using the TC and could only get down to F4. I have modified that to take off the TC and still try to stick at 2.8 that seems to have helped. Atleast I think.....

I sent you another clip via e-mai that I think is better. Let me know.

Yep got the other pic. Was just saying that with this one though you have ISO 3200 and a shutter speed of 1/3200 so you could easily cut the ISO and shutter speed giving a better all round shot. Just something to keep an eye on.

Hi Tammie,

I have done it...... just got a 30D, vertical grip, Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5, Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6 (I always like to have a light weight zoom with me), Sigma 70-200mm f2.8, Sigma 1.4x TC, Canon 580 Speedlight, Canon remote shutter release and........ nope that is about it. Some of it I bought locally so been playing already, just waiting for the 70-200 and 70-300 as well as the Speedlight to arrive.

Will be shooting the first hockey match of the season on Sat so hope to try it out then and will post the results.

Mark
