Very good shots, especially the keeper shot.

I see that using aperture priority with a slower lens is better than shutter priority for DOF.

That has been my experience and I believe you could have gotten away with a lower iso on your shots.

I use Aperture Priority and just look at the shutter speed to be above the minimum 1/250th / sec and snap away.

The DOF in this way comes out much better for me.

Again, nice shots.

Thank you both for your comments. vIZnquest your comment on ISO is noted and will keep it in the back of my mind.

Actually that's part of the reason. But in reality you've caught some very nice action. Can't tell you why, but #4 is my favorite - maybe because it's just different, but I think it's also the sharpest of the bunch so that helps.

Very well done.

Thanks John,

I took #4 as the players were racing by me. I got one shot only as they went by. I liked the way both players are concetrating on the ball.

This game I decided to do sideline shots knowing the calibur of both teams and figured there would be a lot of mid-field action. Wednesday's game will mostly likely be endline shots. We will see what comes out.
