Nice series. Is it me, or is Soccer more dangerous in the US than here? I have never seen players wear gum shields before, is that common over there?

The gum shields (we call them mouth guards) was made a requirement last year by the state prinicpals association for grades 12 and under. I guess it was to prevent any possible injuries to the mouth area. Almost all the players hate them. I do feel that American soccer is more physical them on the continent and more injury prone. When the World Cup was going on I think the USA fans got a good chance to see a different style of soccer (I missed seeing only a few games). Thanks for the comments.

Cool that makes sense, it just seemed a little strange so being inquisitive I though I would ask.

Happy shooting!!!

That may be true but they wear them in Maine.
