I just wanted to post this to show that the canon TCs when stacked are a very usable combination. Auto focus is very slow with the configuration so this was manually focused.

This board really needs a better edit feature or at least a delete post option. Don't ask me how "I" ended up as the subject.

Next to Football (Soccer), surfing is some of my favorite shots to view. You definitely have nailed some good ones.

Yes the forum for posting can be a bit wonky.

I'm impressed with the quality. What are you stacking, a 300mm f2.8 with a 1.4 and a 2x telecon? How good was the original before you reduced the size(how large would you be happy to get it printed)?

Yes I'm stacking Canons 2x II and 1.4x II on my 300 2.8.

This is the original scene

This is a 100% crop from that scene

I'm not sure about print size.

Thanks Mark.. I'm completely happy with the results considering it is handheld and a moving object. I'm going to take it out and try some wildlife next week after the surf comp is completed. What little time I have used it stacked, I can already tell I would want a mono or tripod to make focusing easier.
