I like these much better than the first series

The 3rd shows how a slower shutter (1/250th) will allow the background to blur out even though the aperture is still f8. I really like this shot, the only thing that could improve it is if the bike was further to the right. If possible (and it is very hard with action shots) the subject should always have a some room for it to move into so if possible leave more space in front than behind.

Much better! I'll bet you actually thought about the background a bit more?

The third shot is decent, mx mags usually go for that sort of shot on reports / features with the writing around the subject.

I think Im seeing a pattern develop here!:-) Ill have to take a look at my other shots and see if I am composing my subjects to the left...This is very cool because I have never noticed this. Thanks!

Thank you...once again it was all about vantage points. I was able to get away from the crowds for a little while. Come to think of it, Ive been "shown" the spectator areas quite a few times.
