Last one - I won't post floor as the lighting was horrible.

Nice shots, but maybe next time you might try to keep the bear out of the background.

Hi John,

Freezing action of things that are not normally frozen sometimes gives some interesting results. The 2nd one for example looks as if it's all gone horribly wrong and she's about to crash head first into the bar lol.

I'm guessing that you were fully aware of the bear but couldn't get another angle so made the most of the situation. with the tighter shots it's not a problem anyway just for the dismounts and the slightly wider ones it looks as if the beam has become an extreme sport where you have to get away from the big bear

It took me a few seconds like Mark to realize she was in the middle ofher dismount.:?

I'm definately going to try all focus points at the next meet I shoot, because the keeper rate you mentioned previously is great.

I believe I would check your camera to see if it is starting to smoke John...you have been busy...gymnastics, basketball, swimming! You're going to have to quit your day job!

Great set... Love how you froze the action in all the shots. Impressed as usual.

Now that would be an interesting sport!

Yeah, the bear was a pain. Watching warmups it appeared most of the gymnasts I was shooting had the interesting stuff occuring facing the direction I was shooting from (of course some did not). Since I was shooting for sale I went with the side where I could get more shots. Maybe next time I'd try a bit more of an angle off the end to keep the bear out more.
