It was the last race for many qualifying for Provincials held in Alberta. Only a small few made it to Nationals being held this week here at the Calgary Olympic Park.

The pics below are from the Provincials race.

20d, 70 - 200 2.8 (f3.5 - 4.0) non IS, ISO 3200, AV mode, centre point focus, no flash

Sweet sassy molassy, these are amazing shots. the first one is so brilliantly composed, and the rest definitely convey a sense of speed. Wow!

Thanks for that! The first picture kinda gives me the 'willies' when I look at it as it gives me the sense of the track dropping off like a roller coaster and actually the fellow sweeping the track doesn't venture much past that point or else he's going down for a ride on his butt. For him to recover from that point he hooks his broom on the side rails and pulls himself back up until he's able to walk on his own.

The guy sweeping is one of the bobsleighcoaches for Albertaand he mentioned to me after the event that he'd like to take me down the track in a sled,....I told him I do like speed but that would be limited to shutter speed.:lol:At least I don't mess my pants with fast shutter speed....much.

Hey Kevin these are looking really good the time and effort you have put in are really paying dividends which is great. This is another sport that I would like to have a go at one day (shooting that is).
