I really enjoy these courts but the lighting is a nightmare on my WB. . .

You've got some really nice shots here. The tackle is a great shot! The block is really nice but a fraction late.

All are good, but there is 1 definite issue and 1 possible:

First the definite issue - those lights. Boy do those detract from your shots. While it's normally the right thing to do to shoot upward at the players I might suggest trying less of an angle so you aren't getting those lights in the shots.

The other one I'm not sure about is whether or not these have had too much noise reduction applied. I say I'm not sure because kids this age have very smooth features so it's difficult to tell. My suggestion is to take an unprocessed version of one of these images and do your other edits but not noise reduction and compare the two. See if there really is a problem or not.

Good stuff though! You're definitely getting better!

Thanks for the input John. it's always appreciated. I know what you mean by the lights. it's been a constant issue for me when trying to get good exposures. I'll definitely try shooting from a different angle next time to try to minimize the lights.

I do have a question regarding noise reduction though. Are there any "optimum" settings to use when trying to reduce noise in basketball shots? I typically run my photos through Noise Ninja at USM amount 146, Radius 1.0, Strength 20

Seems to smooth the features out a bit but the noise reduction is great. Do you (or anyone els) know which setting might be best to change to achieve3 a more realistic looking photo without too much smoothing? Thanks ahead of time.
