Colin,

You've got the timing down on a few of these shots very well.

But all the images appear out of focus. I see you're using very short focal lengths. Did you crop these heavily? I would think unless you were standing on the field itself you would have to - 80mm seems way to short to get a shot of the keeper making a save.

Also as a result of the short focal length and narrow apertures you've got some busy backgrounds - cars behind the goal, etc.

So, If you can use a longer focal length and work on your focusing technique to get your shots in better focus I think you'll have some much better shots next time out.

Best of luck and keep shooting. Timing is the hard part. You've got that down so now you have to fix some basics.

hi colin,

i agree with johng, i really like #2 peek-a-boo keeper! great stuff!

and yeah, its hard sometimes to position yourself, not to get cars, people,

or whatever in your background, because no matter

what, someone always has to go to the restroom! hahahaha

but you will get it!

The good news is those cars are pretty far back. They're not 10 feet behind the goal. So, with a longer focal length you can easily blur them into obscurity.
