Hi Bateman and welcome to Steves Forums..... good to have you here and that you have started posting straight away.

The photos are a little small to be able to make any comment on them so would suggest you go forabout 500 - 700 pixels down the longest side so we can have a good look.

Happy shooting,

Mark

Welcome to the sports forum here at Steve's!

On the first shot, timing is a bit off but still not bad - the ball is in the frame which is good. But, this shot has a lot of dead space in it (i.e. the player in the upper right really doesn't add anything) - so I would suggest for next time you frame much tighter. If there is enough image detail to crop this photo down to just the 2 players I would suggest that. If not, it's something to consider for next time.

Shot 2 - looks like this shot was either heavily cropped or had some sort of noie reduction applied - as there is a big loss of detail (e.g. the grass looks like plastic as opposed to shot 1 and a good amount of facial detail is missing from the players). Also, the timing is still a bit off - too early. Wait until the players are closer together to capture more interesting interaction between the two.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future!
