Looks like the timing was good. But I still think it's about faces. I'm not sure the player to the left (whose face you can see) adds anything to the photo. And the player of interest has his back to you.

Yes I realize you can't change your position fast enough - but without the face IMO the shot isn't a keeper. That's one of the frustrating aspects to what we all do - timing, exposure and sharpness can all go for naught if the players we're shooting don't cooperate

If you could see the face I would suggest tigher framing/cropping to eliminate dead space in the image (including the opposing player who isn't involved in the action).
