Hey all, really happy that the motorsport season is now here for me and I had a fantastic days shooting on Sat.

Shot with Canon 30D Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4.5, 70-200mm f2.8 andSigma 120-300mm f2.8.

As ever please let me know what you think and feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark, Nice and sharp! I like #11. The wheels in the air would only make me move from in front of the car as he got closer. Wouldn't want to be a casualty on the side of the road. Favorite car is #3 for me. I just like the style. Jeff

Thanks. The car in #3 is a Hillman Imp, very popular in hill climbs over the years, getting rare now though. As I'm official media I can get in closer to the action than Joe Public but still take safety into consideration, where I was shooting #11 is right next to a tree so I can get in behind if needed and was at 300mm so he's a long way off. There are two places where they get wheels off the ground but this is the best corner to get the right angle for a shot to show it.

Wow, very nice. Whats the difference between this type of racing and rallying? Although I love motorsports, I admit Im unfamiliar with this form. The second car is my fav by the way. Any idea of the HP #s? Id love to blast down a country road in that thing.

I guess it is similar as it is against the clock however there is only one stage, it is short and quite steep. The length is 915 meters, it is an average gradient of 1 in 13.6 and the steepest gradient is 1 in 6.9. Each car gets 2 timed runs in the day and it is the fastest that wins.

Number 2 is a Westfield SE 2000cc and I think he is putting out about 180-200 bhp but the car weighs about 700 kg so it is no slouch and having driven a few in my time on both road and track they are great fun!!
