Here are some of the shots from the 3 games on Saturday. There should have been a 4th but it was cancelled so for the first time ever I picked up a hockey stick and had a hit around with some of the players. Was very good fun, but shooting it is much less like hard work

As ever any C&C welcome.

Shots are great. How about some info on how you captured these and what PP did you use as well.

Well Done!

Thanks guys.

How did I capture them??? Well my basics for hockey are a seated position (if dry on the ground is best but these are on a stool), shot with Canon 30D and Sigma 120-300mm f2.8, I use AI Servo, centre point focus, either manual or aperture priority and work at f2.8 or if there is good light will drop to f3.2 as it does give an extra bit of sharpness and allows for a higher keep rate. I like to position myself ata few locations through a game (mainly as I shoot to sell and want to capture as many players on the ball as possible). My main ones are approximately a 1/4 or 1/3rd up the pitch at both ends. I also like getting behind the goal line to get players running directly towards the camera.

As for PP, I've done nothing to them apart from straighten and cropif needed. I use BreezeBrowser Pro to generate my web galleries and this re-sizes, adds watermark and sharpens.
