Are you allowed into the bench or penalty area to shoot from?

Otherwise I've seen great results from people shooting OVER the glass (ladder)

Man!!! I was afraid someone would say that! I went back 24 pages and only found 1 hockey thread...and it was a pro game. So that tells me it must be a difficult gig. A football mom, whose son is a hockey stud, saw my football pics and asked I come by and shoot the team. I dont know how well she gets along with the coach but Im hoping its well enough that he'll allow me to "sit the bench". I REALLY dont want to lug a ladder around, LOL. She also mentioned that there are photographers selling their work in some arenas...so Im not looking forward to any confrontations...That'll be a thread in its own!

I'm no expert but will say manual exposure.... the white of the ice will really mess up the metering.
