These are my first sports photos with my new camera. After having a lot of trouble with my Nikon D50, I switched to Canon and got a 30D. I used the camera with a borrowed kit lens at the Rally Ireland, but finally got my own lens a 70-200mm F2.8 L. So I got to try it out yesterday at an autocross event. Autocross is very different here in Ireland and in the UK. It a loose surface event in quarries or on grass, and its a time trail event. The cars used can be specials or rally cars.

Not really an area of interest for me, but I really like the 2nd shot. Sharp, and I love the low angle and the perspective is spot on. Good job!

Third one has my vote and it looks like you have taken well to your new rig. Great stuff.

Thanks for the comments. The second one is one of my favourites. I just kinda turned and shot that one, just as I was walking away. Think it could have been the last photo I took that day.

The photos were taken with the Canon 70-200mm F2.8 Non IS. I had the Sigma one for my Nikon camera and found it a great lens. I dont think there is a huge amount in it really. I only got the canon this time over the Sigma cause I found it cheap and when I had the Nikon I never had a Nikon lens so said I would actual go for a Canon lens with the camera this time.
