The ladies match from today.

All shot with Canon 5D and Sigma 120-300mm f.28 and also some with 1.4x TC. The Exif is there so u can see the settings.

Let me know what you think and as always happy to take advice.

#3 again :G

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I like 1 too. The colors in the first couple are really good but things get a bit bright again by the end. Was the sun coming in and out?

Thanks John.... for anyone interested, we worked out the problem with the variation in brightness, and it's that I'm using a new laptop and hadn't noticed that there is quite a bit of difference in the screen display if I get the angle wrong. My other 2 laptops were not quite so bad.

You live and learn!!

Nice shots. Being from Northern Canada, I saw ....Hockey......February and clicked!!
When the photos opened I had to re-read the title to make sure I had clicked the right forum!! I have never seen field hockey. Your shots are great, I enjoy seeing new sports from around the world!!

Thanks,

LOL, I just had to laugh at that!!! Glad you liked them, even if they were not what you were expecting. It's an Olympic sport so you should get a chance to see some on TV later in the year. I've not ever had a chance to shoot Ice Hockey but would like to give it a go one day.

Thanks for looking,

Mark

Glad to give you a laugh! I will try and catch a game of Feild Hockey during the summer Olympics. Here in Canada they don't always broadcast sports that Canadians aren't interested in. But maybe a game or two will be broadcast. Usually if there is no ice involved we don't get to see it!!

(Ice) Hockey poses its own set of troubles for photographing though. Most - if not all arenas have safety glass that are positioned from 1.5-2.5m above the boards which are about 1m high. And then at the ends of the arenas behind the goalie there is safety netting all the way from that glass up to the rafters to prevent stray slapshots from hitting fans! (Which has happenned) I happen to be good friends with an older fellow who has been taken from the arena by ambulance 3 times from getting hit in the head with a puck!! (BAD SEATS!!!) You think you would move after the 2nd time!! Anyway once I get my new Canon 40D I will post some shots of my favourite sport!!

Any recomendations on shooting through the plexiglass at arenas would be helpful!

Jeremy
