Hey everyone,

Just had a quick look through all the shots from today and picked a few to share. I shot 1 mens and 2 ladies matches so was pleased that the weather was nice if a little cold.

All shot with Canon 1D mkIII and Sigma 120-300mm f2.8.

Nice series Mark, my pick being #3 & 5. Did the goalie dive too early in #4 or is the dIII too fast for you:G. I have been sooo close to buying that Sigma lens but as i'm unlikely to go full frame in the immediate futureI'm now erring towards a prime 300mm (funds/wife allowing). Graham

Thanks....... the mkIII might be too fast, but for sure I'm not LOL. I think the ball was in fact stopped by defence so didn't get there.

I'm trying to work out why going full frame would made a difference to a 300 prime over the 120-300, both will work on FF so differences being possible optical ones, no zoom and the possibility of IS.

Hi Mark, i already own a 70-200 F2,8 + 1.4 & 2 xconvertors, on a Nikon D2h sensor equating to a 1.5 factor this and the convertors pretty much cover me to 300+ so a 300 would give me the extra reach but the faster stops. I remember you saying the Sigma was a little poor wide open so stopped down to F4 say is not much more use than my 70-200 + 1.4 conv!
