This is my first action pic taken at a dirt track. Let me know what ya think.

Welcome to the sports forum and great to see you starting with a photo :-).

If you could please keep photos to about 700 pixels for the longest side this will allow most people to view them comfortably.

For a first attempt you have done well, panning shots are not easy, especially when getting down to 1/80th. There is a little vertical movement in these so it's not as sharp as it could be but that's something you can work on. You might find using a monopod will help with this but that's personal preference. I would use more zoom so you are filling the frame better with the subject also a little PP (post production) to increase contrast as it's a little flat. Here is the sort of result to look for.

The edit in contrast boost also dropped the saturation which I prefer in the first. I definitely like the crop though.
