I shot a local high school swim meet on Friday. Fortunately, we had very good light. I was shooting for a local magazine, so keeping track of the participants was as much a problem as actually taking pictures.. Here are the results - C&C welcome...

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6. I decided to play around in Photoshop and came up with this edit.

Nice shots!
Swimming is a lot tougher to photograph than it looks!
I like the photoshop effort.
Some of the shots look a half stop overexposed.

Do you use flash?

Thanks Terry. I didn't use flash. The entire west wall of the pool was glass, so it was very bright until the sun went down. I was shooting in Av mode and started at ISO500 - finished when the sun went down at ISO1250 - shutter speeds around 1/320-1/400 - f/2.8. I had exposure comp set to +2/3, so you were about right on them being over exposed a bit. I think my monitor is also a bit dark, so things that look properly exposed here might be a but bright on other monitors (something I plan to check over the holiday break)..

Did you shoot RAW format?

If so, you can always "tweak" them a half stop either way in post-processing (I use iPHoto).

Still, awesome results! Most people would be pretty happy to get any where near those results!
