Default TT Event - Motorbike Shots

Howdy,

Once again I spent my weekend hanging out at Hidden Valley raceway here in Darwin, NT Australia. On the weekend we have a TT event. Great event with heaps of interstaters and a great lineup.

I have posted some shots that I have edited. Please comment where needed.

Regards,
Matt

1. - Not bad for a A$150,000 bike!

5. - I love what I captured in the visor of this kid. Mind you he was doing 140kph down the straight and is 8 years old.

Good shots.

But, personally, I'd prefer it if you stuck with shots using shutter speeds somewhere "in between" some of the photos I've seen from you.

Those appear to be using wider aperture settings with faster shutter speeds. Some of your previous photos in similar conditions were using narrower apertures (perhaps a bit too narrow at times) with slower shutter speeds.

I like the slower shutter speeds a bit more (for more blur in wheels, background as compared to foreground subject, etc., emphasizing motion). I realize that it's harder to shoot with slower shutter speeds. But, you've already demonstrated in past photos that you've got the needed skill to do it that way. ;-)

Thanks for all the comments guys...

I love #3 as well... I had another shot of him REALLY pushing it but the blur was just way too much.

Jim - I think the slower shutter speeds are a must myself. This weekend was more for the magazine so I played it more on safe shots at good speeds then the crazy photos I try to capture. Next event Ill be dropping the speed down from 320 (which is what most were taken at) to 250 or maybe lower.

Cheers guys. Will post more when Ive finished editing or check my Flickr site where there are currently 70 photos from the weekend.
