Default A bit of Motocross

I know you probably can't believe this but I've shot sports 2 days in a row.

It's crazy, this motopark is less than a 5 min drive from my home but I've never been before (not sure what I was thinking). I only had just under an hour after church before getting to a friends house for lunch so decided to pop and grab some shots. Unfortunately they closed the track for a lunch break about 20 mins after I arrived so didn't get chance to shoot much at all

Shot with the 1DmkIII and Canon 70-200mm f2.8. Same as yesterday with the hockey the light was not on my side due to limited positions for spectators. Due to this I decided to try the 'arty' edit.

It was a fun 20 mins and got me ready for my lunch .

Very cool. I love motocross and always enjoy some good MX pics. Looks like a muddy day. Was this a race day or practice only? I see the ambulance in the background in the last one with the selective coloring.

I am thinking the selection to keep the reds would be better just for the bike and rider. It might be better if the reds in the guy with the hat and the tail lights were also black and white.

I would be nice to be so close to a track. Fun Fun.

I thought I had done his face and the lights but then I remembered I went back and started again and must have missed them the 2nd time. It just needs some desaturate brush and would be fixed.

This track is only used for practise but for every event they have the ambulance.

If I wasn't moving out of the country I would be looking to shoot more for them and see if I could get fuller access. The spectator area is close to the action but pretty limited.

Thanks Dustin. I didn't get time to shoot with the 7D. I did just get it out with the Sigma 120-300 on to allow me to shoot some further away sections however that is when they stopped for lunch.

Nice images. I like the last one with the ambulance in the backgroud and the way the mud seemed to be a lighter shade it made the image standout. Nice capture of the action.

Great pix...but # 1 and the last photo really appeal. Think it's the lighting...almost B+W..but colour shots.

Welcome to my world, I take pictures of Motocross every weekend, Absolutely love it.

By the way, finally purchased my lens for my 7D. I have the Canon 70-200 f2.8 non is. Took a few pictures today for the first time to try it out, WOW. Just need to learn how use it properly now.

Quick question, What if any benefit does having camera insurance over house insurance with your camera on it benefit people.

I am due to renew my house insurance and don't know if to add the camera on it or take out separate camera insurance.
As i use it for motocross i haven't seen any camera insurance that covers against dust which is the biggest issue for me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry one last thing i have asked a few times, A while ago i saw some Extremely super slow motion video on here but cant find it anymore, it was a 4x4 driving through a street super slow motion, as the 7D records video i would love to use this effect for say bikes going off jumps etc, Please Please advise.

Thanks , sorry for so many questions.
