Hey Tom,

I like your shots. I only shot swimming for one weekend so I am very inexperienced but these are very nice. Colors look good and you've got the faces.

Some comments on each
#1 - Nice capture but I found that the kids and parents really like the front view on the fly shots with arms extended. So this is a nice shot but if you can get on the ends and get them coming at you it could be even better.

#2 - Nice capture off the board. I didn't do much of this wish I had done more of these.

#3 and #4 - Freestyle seemed to be the hardest for me to get a decent shot. Both of these are very nice. I am on the fence a little about the shutter speed in #4. I personally prefer a little faster speed to avoid the hand being blurred but others may like the motion effect better.

Overall very nice, I am sure the kids will love these.

Andy

Hi Andy,

Thank you for your comments. This was my first try at swimming and went because it was close and I wanted another chance to use the demo canon 7D I had on loan while my 40D was out for repairs. The lady selling tickets looked at me a bit strange when I asked if I could see the pool before deciding to buy a ticket.

The last two photos were my favorites although I too wish I would have had a faster shutter speed. I liked the capture on the dive but the focus was a little soft. I did not move around much since I was not at the pool for anyone specific even though I have learned in the past that a camera with a big lens usually get you access to a better location.

I checked out some of your swim photos, all very nice, the head on shots are really good.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Tom
