Default Adelaide's Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar photos.

Here are a few photos from the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar weekend. Camera was a Nikon D40 with either a 55/200 Nikor or a Sigma 70/300 APO lens. Comments and questions welcome.

The track used for this event is a slightly shorter version of Adelaides old Formula 1 circuit. The general admission areas have a very limited amount of areas to photograph from. In most of these areas you have to shoot through the fence. I am getting better at it but I still have a way to go yet.

Cheers

Some nice shots, looking pretty sharp and well exposed. The aircraft shot is very cool too, lots of people make a hash of these so good job!!

It's a shame that the majority are from behind but guess this was a limitation of shooting positions?

Default Thanks for the comments Mark.

I should add that it is a street circuit so those fences are everywhere and to get a shot of the side or front of the cars you have to shoot through it. Unfortunately my kit and skills are not up to TG's standards so shooting through the fence does present some problems. The rear shots are all taken through the various emergency vehicle access points to the circuit and this makes shooting tricky as the cars are moving away from the camera.

Also all my photos are straight from the camera with no post processing or croping.

Cheers
David

Nice set of shots considering the very tough shooting conditions (got to love those fences ). Have to get over for Clipsal one of these years.

Default Thanks TG

Clipsal is a great event, I am sure would like it. A media pass would help with the fences but I think they are hard to get.

Cheers
