Default Paddle boarding (my 4,000th post!)

Taken from the Huntington Beach (Calif.) pier. There is a growing friction between the surfers and the paddle boarders for "control" of the waves.
These paddle boards are much larger than the typical surfboard and, along with the paddles themselves, can cause injuries to guys (and gals) on surfboards. And, of course, they are much harder to control in congestion.

Very nice Walter, I've never seen that style of paddling before. You caught the look of intensity on the paddler's face, the roiling water...I like the blue and black colours which contrast with the colour of the water. Excellent.

Looks to me that you might have photographed from a precarious position...almost right over the water and paddler ?

What lens did you use ?

Also congrats on your 4,000th post !

Thanks. I used the Canon EF 100-400L IS lens at 100mm, f/7, ISO 400, 1/750 sec.

I've not seen this sport before either. Have you got any shots of these guys on the waves as it would be interesting to see how they go about it?

Congrats on getting to 4000

I have seen a couple of these guys on a smooth lake paddling, but in the surf??? That would be tough! Great shots as always!
