Default New Poster and Some Football.

Hello all. I am a hobby photo shooter who also takes some pride in what they do. I shoot sports mainly, but I love to shoot anything. I have been shooting a lot of high school football lately. (As I work with a guy who uses my photos on his website and other places). For me it is just a fun thing(as we all know sports photographer make no money ), but I am always looking to improve on what I can do. Just because it is fun does not mean I do not take it seriously. Here is a photo I like from Saturday's games. Give me your thoughts on this shot. Any and all advice is welcome.

Excellent shot. Sharp, perfect timing and nice framing. You might try dodging the face a little to bring out a bit more detail but fine shot.

I have to ask though -what type of surface are they playing on. It looks almost like asphalt - I've never seen turf that color.

That's a great shot! Looks like it might just be the track at the back of the end zone.

The are playing on turf. The endzone is black to match the school colors. Which are black, green and white. There is a track also but that is seen in the far background.

I should add neither of these are the home school as there was 3 games there on Saturday.

Actually the intended target was the guy in black and white if I remember right. So for this one it would have been an interception.

Edited to add , after looking at the next frames, it was a dropped ball by both players.

No not at all

Canon 1D Mk III
Canon 70-200 2.8

Monopod

Simple as that. I am on the sidelines if you did not already know.

Edit: If you are asking what I used as far as settings,

AV mode
ISO 400
2.8 F Speed
AWB(Auto White Balance)
and then a couple of user defined settings. (Personal choice here)
