Default High School Sports and flash regulations

I found this link on another site. It is, of course, most useful for people in Ohio as this is the governing body. But, in past discussions I think similar outlooks exist in most states. Still, good to see an official policy in print for Ohio. Expect other states to do the same. I really like they are sport-specific.

Interesting read about volleyball and lighting conditions.

yeah, that one struck me too. Used to be not allowed at all during the regular season. And from my experience, no gym I've shot in meets those requirements.

I'd have to agree, the gym of the local high school is fairly well lit compared to the other gyms in the league, and I don't think I'd get more than 320th of a sec at 1600 at f2.8.

Also had wondered about rulings since an area weekly newspaper photographer used flash at all the volleyball matches at the school home gym the newspaper covered this year.

If I asked volleyball players if they minded flash, I'd expect most of them to say yes, they do mind - would be surprised if they didn't.
