Default A few hockey shots!

I havenīt been practising to shoot hockey much this year since I changed camera brand and havenīt got any good lens to shoot hockey with yet. But I just had to try to shoot a few when my wifes son played last time. These are shot with the Canon 50mm f1,8 lens which is not a great lens to shot sports with. Anyway, here they are.

The important thing given the limitations is your exposures and WB are good. So you're set up well for when you get a more appropriate lens. What I might suggest is to potentially re-evaluate the TYPE of shot you take based upon the focal length limitation. Maybe from behind the goal? Unfortunately I don't get to shoot hockey, so it's hard to give some specific suggestions. But you've got the basics down, so the idea is to figure out what type of shot you can get with only 50mm instead of trying to take a shot that requires 200mm.

Thanks John!

Iīm still completely lost when it comes to framing hockey. Itīs much harder to shoot then soccer. But I guess itīs because I havenīt looked as much on hockey as I have with soccer.
Iīm going to get the 85mm f1,8 lens soon and then I will keep practising to shoot hockey. I also have to look more at hockey shots from other photographers.
But Iīm glad I at least nailed the whitebalance and the exposure
This was the first time I tried to set the whitebalance my self.

Best regards/Daniel
