Great shot. I hope you can give the young lady a copy of the photo. That Rebel is working well or maybe it just has a great driver.

Thanks gib!

That young lady is my step-daughter... and yes I've already printed an 8X10 for her! She was all

I convinced the wife that I really really needed a Drebel to capture these moments!

Your wife should be easily convinced you and her made the decision for DSLR.

Yep! I tried shooting color film last year. Of course the labs could never get the color right... (and neither could I on the scans... which is another pain i've eliminated thanks to the DRebel!) And none of my old Minolta lens were very fast. So I figured if I was going to buy fast new lens I might as well invest in DSLR... (Besides do you know how bad the shutter lag on a G2 is? )

Now I have to convince her I need a fast wide angle zoom!

What lens did you use on this ?
Canon 50mm F1.8
and if so does it zoom in and out or is it fixed on 50mm?

Yes, I used my Canon 50mm 1.8. It is a fixed 50mm lens (called a prime lens). On the DRebel the 50mm is equiv to a 80mm on a 35mm camera...
