Default Phillip Island Classic 2013 (Historic Motorsport)

Here are some shots from the Phillip Island Classic 2013, what a great annual event especially being one week before the Australian Formula One Grand Prix. Shots taken with the Panasonic FZ150.

All nice...but number four....the looking down at the race car, driver and 8 intake stacks....undoubtedly atop a healthy American V8....is a different and interesting perspective.

I'm just trying to figure out where your vantage point was to get such an interesting picture ? Also was this during a pit stop ?

Thanks, took picture 4 from above the the pit garages (as there is a viewing platform above the garages at the end of the pit lane). The car was out of the garage in the pit lane and I thought this would make a good shot.

Here is a wider shot.

These are cracking images from that camera Tom!.
You really put many SLR users to shame on motor sport!, (which would probably include me by the way!)!. Have you thought about setting up a Blog on one of the cameras dedicated forums?, I'm sure most users won't know it's potential!!. Kind regards Graham.

I like this one too. An unusual angle that takes the viewer right into the action....in fact you feel as if you are there...listening into the conversation between pit crew and driver. Well done.

It takes me back to the one Can-Am race I attended...back in the late '60's....although I was never able to get this close to the pits or the race action.

Luckliy I was able to watch a couple of can-am races back in the 70s. This shot reminds me of a great driver from back in that era named Mark Donahue. He drove the #6 Porsche 917/30 that had 1400 HP.
