Awesome pic! I barrel race too but sadly I cannot run barrels and photograph myself at the same time

Great shot, and it looks a lot like my horse! I LOVE the hair! Too bad she put it up next time! Where is distric 18? Cali? I forgot my district # lol. I have only raced for NBHA a couple times. Never got any good pics tho

NBHA District 18 is in Phelan, Ca. ( http://www.nbhaca18.org/ )SoCal in the Mojave Desert. Getting pretty hot here to be out in an open arena taking pics... This is a very competitive bunch, very organized and a pleasure to shoot.

Awesome, dcharding!

You have frozen the moment extremely well

You may want to consider submitting this one for Photo of the Day (if you have not done so already!)

I did submit this to POTD 2 months ago. Which is kind of why I posted it here, to see what others thought. To me, it is a very good photo and has the qualities for POTD selection. The original is in landscape, and I thought that it would be a better shot this way, so I cropped it to portrait. That and some minor (shadow/highlight, levels and unsharp mask) PS corrections. All in all, one of my best photos, and was really hoping for a POTD selection:sad:

Wonderful stop action photo. Also amazed she's not wearing knee pads, when I first looked at it I winced.
