Here are just a couple of pics from this past weekend. This kid has great mechanics for a 9 year old. Only photo size reduction. No other post-processing.

Hey aaltenburger--these are great pics. Were these taken with your Sigma 120-300? I am really considering this lense based on some of your other posted pics.

Yep. All taken w/ the 120-300. I took a ton of them over the weekend. With that lens and my 10D, I'm getting a very good percentage of keepers.

Andy, these photos are excellent! Great captures. Watch out, you may end up making money on this stuff! And, just a sideline, wow, have you grown!

Norm, a lot of the credit goes to you for turning me to this. Took about 1,000 photoslast weekend at 2 LL games. Gotten a couple hundred inorders so far. Equipment has a lot to do w/ it. TheSigma 120-300 and the 10D allow me to do things I couldn't w/ theDR.

One of the issues I'm having w/ the i9100 is how it renders royal blue. Everything else comes out fine except that color. It's hard to explain, but it just comes out as kind of a blob with that color. Little if any definition.Any thoughts?

Yes, my thoughts on that, since I have that printer, is to return it and ask for another one, or, quit using non-Canon inks, if you are (which I doubt).

Those are my two suggestions.

I know it ain't the printer, unless you have a faulty printer, which is a possibility. So repack it and send it back, tell them to give you another.

I'm sure that will solve the problem.

ps - Remember, your printer can only produce what you offer it, so make sure that your white balance is accurate on the photos. One thing may be to calibrate your monitor, but I've never had to do that, but then again I've never had to get Royal Blue perfectly, but if any color is off I eyeball it. I've been an artist for many years so I have no problem doing that. with the i9100 I've "never" had a color control prob.

As well, I see no color problem with the above photos, so if your printer prints close to what you see here, then you have no problem, IMHO. I would "personally" increase the contrast slightly on the above photos in order to create more of a richness of contrast. Otherwise, perfect in my eyes.
