Amy, nice set of action pics here, and a verygood documentation of of two things I hate to see Heavy hands and Tie Downs, They do not go togather.. I would show these pics to her and let here learn from it.. As she is trying to compose her balance she is using the reins to hold onto, can you imagine the pressure this horse is feeling on his mouth.. so he does what is natural to him, gives to the pressure by raising his head and Bam!! the tie down puts pressure on the top of his nose.. now to relieve pressure he drops his rear quarters and starts a spin.. Tie downs are the most abused piece of tack you can have. They do have there place in the ropping pen but that is.. and with the right hands.. Anyway nice job on the pics .. sorry for the lecture but it is my pet peeve.. Dale

A pet peeve of mine as well! Epecialy the heavy hands part! I can see the use of tiedowns for when you are coming out of the barrels when your horse needs something to balance on sometimes... but for a hedset I get so mad .. a lot of my friends use them and i try to tell them that I disagree with their use of them as something to keep their heads down... but I don't want to get in the way of their training "methods". I stick to a bit and a saddle... no tiedowns, spurs, or whips.
