Great shots bobbyz!

Were these shots taken at 400mm?

Great quality shots,

The 100-400 lives up to its name, need something alike for D2H.

Got any more?

Most are at 400mm. I ran out of card space so had to shoot in jpeg.

Yeh i see on FM your after some big L glass raff. The 50-500 is good but gets too soft at 500 for my liking, l usually have to drop it too about 450mm to get any real clarity. Good luck with the surf trip too!!

Been reading some great reviews on Sigmas 130-300 and holding its sharpness with the 1.4 or even 2x tc (600mm great), plus you still have reliable AF. I'd love to go Nikon big prime but unless someone fancies throwing mea freebe its not gonna happen. Sigma lenses seem good for there money.

Hoping for a good swell for me trip, look forward to posting a few pics.

Take it easy

Raff

raff...wat camera do you use? if it's digital, don't forget the sensor crop! (i don't know the specs for the D2H...)

300mm on a digital rebel and 20D is 480mm add a nice 2X onto that and you got 960mm!

btw...bobbyz...

great shots! i'm thinking, they actually are a bit "too" close! i'd like to see a bit more of the wave...

great sharpness and detail though

Its a 1.5x crop factor with D2H, so 300 to 450 x2 and you got 900mm.

Love the new puppy Vito, super cute.

Take it easy
