Welcome!

Helicopters and prop planes are two subjects where a complete freeze just looks wrong. Try a slower shutter speed so the body is still frozen but you see motion in the propeller - otherwise it just looks like the copter is falling. If the copter / plane is moving (rather than hovering in the case of a copter) use a panning technique with the slower shutter speed to 'freeze' the body of the aircraft while allowing the motion of the blades / prop to show through. Keep 'em coming!!

I think it looks awesome like that. Like you said, completely out of place!! But, it's a real image, which makes it all the more impressive.

I like it as well, you can see that the tail blades have to be moving faster than the main rotor, or about the same tip speed?

This is a lovely sharp shot but I have to agree with John that the Heli looks as if it is about to fall out of the sky due to lack of rotor speed. I find that about 1/160th is good for pro/blade movement. I'm impressed how low this and that you captured it as it shot past.

Im thinking a blurry semi circle above the copter would have def added "drama". Nice shot, do you have any more?
