High school.

I use a Tamron 17-35 wide angle and shoot about 10-15 feet away.

I see all these guys with 300mm lenses at the cross-country meets, and I think they are going for the long, nicely blurred background shots.

As for me, I like to get in where the action is, so you can see the sweat and the effort of the runners, which is the reality of the sport.

Thanks for your comment, Terry

Unfortunetly there are usually lines and such at least here where its hard to get that close. Being a high school track and cross country runner myself, Its a hell of a lot of time put into the sport. This summer the group of us ran for about 75 minuites every day and covered between 8 and 10 miles a day... multiply that by the 90 days and youve got almost 700 miles.

Oh yah, most people don't understand how much work it is to be a cross-country runner.

It's not like other sports.

If your out there cranking a couple of 5:30 miles on a hilly course, there's nowhere to hide.

It's frightening pain!
