Thanks guys. The only faster lens I have is a 50mm f1.7, but just not long enough so had to make do with f2.8. It would have been helped if I could have found a better way to get focus..... just had to rely on a single point and hope that I could get something.

I was hoping that flash would be allowed, but no joy during a comp

Oh well..... I will give it another try sometime..... as ever it is always fun trying out new subjects.

Pic 2 the best, why? Central, the lads expression (concentration), and his belly muscles, he is trying bloody hard and good luck to him.

Bit noisy, bit out of focus, but hey, what can you do if you have not got £4,000.00 for a IS Minoltas Zoom.

I do alot of Airshow photography so I know how difficult is, I only have standard'ish lenses/zooms and its flippin' difficult.

How the hell do you take crystal clear photos of flying birds, god only knows.

Little tip for you:

DIVE OFF THE PLATFORM AT THE SAME TIME WITH YOUR 50mm F1.7:idea:

LOL..... all you would get would be 2 fantastic shots (IMHO) and the third would be me killing myself as I hit the water. I think I will go with the lower quality ones for now!!!
