Well here are my first attempts at diving photography...... I had problems with the white balance so have tried to sort it out.

These were all taken with Konica Minolta 5D and Sigma 70-200 f2.8.

Settings Manual Mode, 1/500, f2.8. ISO 3200. This gave a slightly under exposed shot, but was the only way that I could freeze (almost) the action.

The biggest problem I had was the focus as Cont was not an option as it would keep selecting the back wall. I settled for a single focus option but choosing a position part way between the top of the dive and the bottom. You will notice with f2.8 I not all of the divers are in focus..... nothing I could do about this.

Let me know what you think.

Mark.

Some nice captures there Mark. It looked like you were battlingagainst the light. It's a shame the photo of the bloke with the shaved head's a bit blurred - for me, that's the best (other than the comedy one at the end!).

It's a frustrating thing, to come up against the limits of equipment. I have a similar problem with basketball and indoor soccer.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"In my case, an old, but fast screwmount tele was the answer.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I think my enjoyment of the pictures was enhanced by knowing the effort you had to make to get them.
