Aaron,

That's a very good shot. You have a difficult challenge here. From high jump shots I've seen, an upward-looking angle will always look better, but short of lying flat on your back it would be tough to shoot upwards for kids at this level. So, given the situational constraints I think it's a very good shot - good focus and color and good background blur.

John, thanks for the kind words, I'm learning! I agree with you it would be a very cool shot if I could lie on my back and shot the picture as the boy or girl cleared the bar, but I wonder how I would get any picture of there face doing that?
