OK! I am going to say something. It is a way too cool of a shot!!! I hope she is someone you can share the photo with as it is great. The freeze of the water and motion is impressive and her expression says it all... concentration. I would like to have seen the top of her arm and hand but it is great the way it is.

Good job.

Great shot spy!

Not always easy in swimming I know, but having a clear sharp face always makes a sports photo better IMO. Nice color too. Do you set custom WB or shoot RAW and adjust in processing?

Thank you for the comments. Yes, her photo is being shared with her this weekend. Freezingthe motion of water to me is art but it is so tricky to capture that and facial expression in the same frame as I shoot with the 20d, center point focus.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I always aim to the mouth of the swimmer to capture the expression but if even a drop of water moves across the center point focus, it chooses that which can move the face out of focusas shooting at 2.8 is easy to blur anything not focused on.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"JohnG, the wb was set to "flash" as I also use the 580ex speedlite. I don't shoot in Raw as I just don't have big enough cards that could handle the 600 or so photos I shoot at a meet in just the first day. So these are shot in large format to get the 8.2 mega pixel advantage and tweek a little in Noiseware, Adobe PS and Bibble.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Below are two more, and thanks again for your comments.
