If you notice I have tried to capture the faces.
Most of my pics don't have much "action"

Nothing wrong with that approach. Capturing faces makes for powerful sports pics. However, most of the faces in these are under exposed quite a bit so you can't really see them. If faces are going to be what you target, you need to bump up your exposure so you're exposing for the faces - not for whites in helmets and uniforms. You may blow some of those highlights - but that's really OK. Your subject is the faces - if you can clearly see the face no one will care highlights in helmet or pants are blown. Here's an example of what I'm referring to. In the t-ball game I shot yesterday morning there was bright sun - the 'pitcher' wears a helmet for protection. With the bright sun I can either choose to have a visible face or properly exposed pants. I chose the face. You can see the highlights are blown in the pants, but who cares? It's the face parents want to see - not the pants.

With some post processing work you might be able to bring out more detail in the faces - depends on the quality of the image file. It's worth a try - but I think if you can get a little better exposure in the image capture you'll really like your results better.

Thanks for the input John.
Now I realise why the faces were not too clear.
I am sure the next set of pics will be much better.
btw my son will be playing at Sky Dome ( Now Rogers Center) for his team on July 29
I am already so excited.
