Here's a pic I took during the airshow in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands on june 17th 2006. Taken with a Nikon D50 and a SIgma 4,5-5,6/70-300 mm lens.

Any comments are welcome!

Good shots! I especially like #1. It looks like its falling out of the sky, the angle that it is at and the way the smoke is wafting. The paint scheme and the afterburner make it really amazing.

I live about 3 miles south of MCAS Miramar in San Diego (the fighter base in "Top Gun"), and every October the Blue Angels are out for the airshow. Last year, both times they performed, they literally flew 200 feet directly overhead of my apartment, in formation. Possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Thanks for your comments! Wow! Miramar is probably one of the best places on earth to live (if you're an aircraft freak like me)!

I get mezmerized sometimes watching the jets there. I work right across the street from the base, and all week long, from early in the morning until evening, there are F-18's taking off and landing constantly. Theres not much variety in jets that come and go. Mostly F-18's with an occasional C-130 or helicopter. Theres a road that runs about 100 feet from the end of the runway and I want to stop and take pictures so bad but I would probably get in TONS of trouble. :-)

Gerben,

You were there on saturday; I was there on friday. The weather was lousy then; my pictures were murky and I am a newbie.

You and I have the same lens and camera. What settings did you use; can you post the exif data?

Thanks -Bedankt!!!-
