You got a few excellent shots here. Nice work. What camera and settings did you
use?

Nice work..... I have tried to capture the team that I play for during games, but we are not allowed to use flash which is a pain. Do they not mind the use of it there?

For those asking it looks like Shell is using the following:

Model = Canon EOS-1D Mark II N
Exposure Time = 1/250"
F Number = F4
ISO Speed Ratings = 800

Different focal lengths were used, but all around 85mm.

Anyone interested in finding Exif info for shots you can get Opanda IEXIF which will allow you to pull it off shots posted on the web.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Mark1616 is right about the camera info, although I am fairly impressed with the Mark II N , it is definantly not the end-all.

I've been shooting the 20D for the last 2 sports seasons and do not see a terrific increase in "keepers" outside of the blistering speed of the Mark II N.

If considering between pro-camera bodies vs. better glass I would advise on the purchase of better glass first. ( just my opinion.)

I will admit that I am just learning the ins and outs of the Mark II N (5000 shots later!):?

On using flash: I shoot sports in various gyms around the state and have had very little issues regarding flash. (outside of gymnastics.)

I know that people (particularly spectators) will complain about the bright flash, that is because they are looking directly at the camera. I have talked to many many players and not one has every noticed or complained about flash, at one point I have even had a coach stand on the free throw line shooting free throws with me purposely trying my best to blind him, He NEVER NOTICED!

I will tell you what one AD told me "That if my flash was bothering the players that they wereFocusing onsomething that they shouldn't."

Indoors sports in lots of gyms would be a nightmare without the use of flash.

MY 2Cents!!

Hi Shell - that's cool. I will tell the complaining Brits to concentrate more on the game then and not worry about what I am doing!!!

I agree about the glass over new body, just now I could do with something faster than my 3 shots (on a good day) per second for sports.

Thanks,

Mark.
