Hi all Im just about to start building a studio from scratch in my loft space, fairly large area of 4m by 3.5m, its basicaaly going to be boarded all around in plywood which I will then be painfting should i use a certain paint type and colour so I can use the wall as background?

What lighting is the most photographer friendly permanent lighting?

It will also have a south facing 4ft by 4ft skylight/window Do I need to ensure that can be covered?

what equipment would be good starter stuff for portrait and object photography?

Can I make use of that lovey natural light coming through the window?

oh my equipment at the moment is a rebel xt/350d with various lenses and a speedlite 430x and a tripod.

Any advice would be massively appreciated, Cheers
