I can't tell you anything about the 308 but I own and use a Seconic L-508 Zoom Master and it is really a very good flash meter. It is very easy to use and I can fire my strobes by using the PC socket built into the meter. Another excellent feature is it uses one single "AA" battery instead of some goofy battery that is hard to find. If I were to buy another meter to replace this L-508 I would replace it with another L-508.

They both offer more than 99% of photographers may use. The pocketwizard module is really, really cool. I know this is available on the 358, not sure about the 508.
