Sand inside my camera in Iran

I broke my Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 in the desert last week, tiny sandstorm hit on top of a dune, and now the lens won't open. I can still transfer pictures, and the power turns on, but no photo taking whatsoever. I already opened the camera to take a look inside, but only to blow on a few things in hopes of clearing any grains of sand. NO LUCK, the lens still won't open.

My question is how can I repair this camera, and how much does it cost? I am traveling in the Middle East.

I really don't think you are in much luck as my experiences of being in the Middle East there are not the readily available places to get repairs. Even if you were in the US or UK you probably wouldn't be able to justify the costs of getting it checked out and repaired.

Probably you are looking at getting a new camera as otherwise you are potentially throwing money at something that is past economical repair.
