I've been using pec pads with eclipse to clean my lenses. Works great. But when I use it on my reading glasses all it does is smudge & smear.

I'm curious how it can clean lenses so well but smear up my glasses... anyone know?

Different contaminants? Another possibility is that the camera lens is glass (with possible coatings) and the eyglass lens may be plastic or resin (again with possible coatings).

Different cleaners work differently on different materials.

Just an interesting side note (off topic). Do you know the best thing for cleaning windows? A good glass cleaner and newpapers. The glass cleaner that starts with "W" and has been around since the rocks were still hot is probably the worst while the one with the initials "G.P." is much better. The newsprint (with black ink, not color) does an excellent job of cleaning the window and does not streak. Paper towels do not work nearly as well!

Good luck.
