I've been picking up broken digital cameras, repairing them and donating them to charities. I recently worked out a repair of the mode switch problem for the M4. It uses a Alpha SR1712 rotary switch from Mouser, two salvaged tactile switches and flex cable from a CDROM motor. Having the original dial helps a lot.
I would be glad to foreword the details to anyone who wants to attempt it.
On the other hand if you have a broken Toshiba with this problem that you don't want to bother with I would be glad to take it as a donation.

I would appreciate any help you can give in repair of mode dial, as the shutter button and mode dial have popped off, after 6 years... thanks

How about other problems with the M4? I recently had a problem with exposure very BLUE when outside. Inside with flash it was ok. Did firmware upgrade to 1.16 and now the shutter doesn't operate at all. When I go to automatic mode it beeps five times and that is it. The LCD does work ok. Any ideas?

Where did you find the part no? I went to the Moser site and they have the swith that I probably am looking for but I don't have a number. Can you help me.
