Default Cincinnati approach

Snapped this American Eagle ERJ-45 on approach to Cincinnati earlier in the Summer. Pentax K10D + DA 18-250.

Very nice capture. Sharp and good lighting on the plane.

I was in a parking lot of an office complex about a half mile from the end of the runway and I estimated the aircraft to be about 300 ft in altitude. I checked my EXIF and the zoom appears to be at 85mm.

I had to find an appropriate spot where the afternoon sun was shining on the aircraft or else I would have ended up with more shadows. It is tough to find spots where the lighting is good, the approach angle is good, and you do not attract too much attention. I've found that using impressive looking gear (long lens, tripod, etc) removes a lot of suspicion

Walter: thanks for your comments as well. My goal is to get published on www.airlines.net. FYI, this image was rejected by them.
